Walking & Cycling

cameltrailcoastalpathThe coastal path runs through the village, providing walkers with spectacular views of the Cornish coastline and the Atlantic Ocean. Head over to www.southwestcoastpath.com for lots of information about the coastal path along with recommendations on routes and places to see.

For a family day out by bike, head over to the Camel trail.  There are several bike hire places in Wadebridge if you haven’t brought your own.  The trail is mostly level and traffic free, so is ideal for children.

Coastal Adventures

If you are craving the sea and adrenaline, based just along the coast from us at Port Quinn is Cornish Coast Adventures. They run sea kayaking and coasteering trips around the rugged coastline. Surfers are also well catered for 5 miles away in Polzeath.

If beautiful beaches are more your thing we’d recommend Daymer Bay near Rock which is both family and pet friendly..

Doc Martin

Port Isaac has become even more well known worldwide because of the Doc Martin tv series. John Brown’s Port Isaac walk and talk runs throughout the year, taking people to all of the locations used in the series.

Food & Drink

lobstersPort Isaac has plenty of restaurants and cafes.  Of course, you need go no further than the Old School Restaurant for an excellent meal! If you would like to try elsewhere, 2 Michelin starred Nathan Outlaw now has two restaurants in the village.  We’d also recommend The Mote down on the Platt and Port Isaac Pottery on Roscarrock hill.  If you are after a quick snack, you can’t do better than Nicki Bs Pasty shop!

The Fisherman’s Friends

fishermansfriendsThe Fisherman’s Friends are a group of shanty singers from Port Isaac. During the summer months you may be lucky enough to catch one of their free concerts down on the Platt.  These do get very busy, especially when the weather is fine so you would be advised to arrive early to get a good spot!  The best place to find out about upcoming concerts is their facebook page.
